Rick Parrott has a varied background consisting of Aviation, Information Technology and Healthcare experience. This experience has been gained by being in the trenches, by actually doing the job.
He joined the USAF in 1980 as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, and then transferred to Air Traffic Control. After eleven years in the USAF he separated and went to work for USAA as an I/T Support Specialist.
After five years at USAA, he moved to The Hartford as a Network Administrator. During that time he operated as a Help Desk supervisor, manager, project manager and technical trainer.
In 2007 he returned to the service of his country as an Army Reservist. Rick Parrott served as a Combat Medic, Combat Medic Trainer and LVN for six years before transferring to Public Affairs.
Rick Parrott is scheduled to retire from the military in 2013.
Finally, he has worked for two years as an Electronic Health Records Implementation and Training Specialist. During this time he developed training material and worked many projects though the implementation and training phases of their development.
Since retraining into US Army Public Affairs, he has become an avid photographer.
